THE OTHER SIDE OF MARRIAGE: I Should Not Have Married Her – Husband. He Stopped Seeing Me After I Became Pregnant – Wife

According to Saturday Tribune 26 March,2016`s report a motor park leader has asked an Agege customary court in Lagos State Nigeria,to separate him from his wife over accusations of unruly behaviour.

The complaint, Mr Aliu Bamgbade, who is married to Asisat had approached the court to end his marriage citing unruly behaviour as the main reason of wanting to end his marriage

However,in her defence, Asisat said that she has known. Aliu since she finished secondary school. We promised to marry each other and he rented an apartment for me. He was persistent and I became pregnant after a few months. When he realised that I was pregnant,he stopped coming. He asked me to terminate the pregnancy.

I refused and started going to the hospital for ante natal after a few months. He stopped giving me money, despite the fact that his first wive knows about our relationship, she said.

Asisat added that Aliu promised to take her to meet his family. There was a day I went to his motorpark and I saw him with another woman. He has totally abandoned me and our child..I am responsible for the upkeep of the child.I have been ejected from my apartment because of rent issues.I brought the baby to the park so that everyone can know the kind of person he is.

He is also  fond of beating me at the slightest provocation, she added.

In his response, Aliu told the court he would not have married her if he had known the kind of person she is.

She is fond of coming to the motor park where I work, claiming that I dont give her money for food. She once tore my clothes in the presence of my colleagues.

She embarrasses me to the point where my colleagues now disrespect me.She destroyed the windscreen of my car, burnt four of my tyres. In short,I dont want to have anything to do with her again,Aliu said.

President of the court,Mr P.A. Williams, dissolved the union, citing irreconciliable differences

`It is obvious that both parties are tired of each other. The complaint is ordered to pay  N5000 monthly for the upkeep of the child, and also get an accommodation for the defendant and her child“.he ruled

My dear single, I want you to learn from the above case if you don`t want to have similar experience of the Other-side of Marriage as being experienced by Asisat.Do not be a victim of deception, and that is why you should embrace the fear of God.

When you allow the mundane things of this world to override the will of God for your life, then you will live to pay dearly for it in a hard way. Watch it! There are several lessons for you to learn from the above case. Be wise.

Polygamy is not the best form of marriage for you as there are a lot of setbacks, evils or calamities associated with it. Your vision should be for monogamy form of marriage as ordained by God.

And the Lord God said,it is not good that the man should be alone;I will make him a help meet for him. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:18,24 KJV.

Moreover, as you are pondering over who will be the right man for your life, seek the face of God and let Him guide you through.

Your comments are welcome.

I remain yours,

John Igbasanmi.
